Code reader said it was the O2 sensor. I replaced it today, that code and CEL went away, but now the code P1153 comes up and the cruise light is still flashing.I got my first Subaru, 2019 Forester Sport. Mostly a Honda family but wanted to try a Subaru rather than owning 2 CR-V's. This also restores other functions, such as cruise control, that were disabled when the CEL was turned on.Do you have any warning lights on, in addition to cruise flashing? Funny thing..Exact same thing happened to me the other day after an oil change (DIY) and removed the air filter for cleaning.Took to Subaru mech who repaired the Kangaroo damage. Diagnosis: 1. burnt out spark plugs with very red deposit on electrode. Suspected dirty fuel. Replaced spark plugs. 2. Mass air flow sensor defective. Replaced. Subaru built that into the computer as a fail safe in case the problem is with the electronic throttle.
