We have observed the same problems with Miratec as we have on the others. Granted some of it took a little longer. All of it has to be maintained of course but it swells and absorbs moisture. I test some of it a few years ago along with a few other brands. It did swell just like the others.Hardie & LP Smartside are the industry leaders in clapboard siding. Hardie is more brittle than LP, but does better with moisture. In my opinion I would use a different trim product like LP, Miratec, Boral, or cellular PVC.
